Never Forget

NYC, September 11, 2001 was originally built to be a website where New Yorkers could share stories about living in the city. It was launched in August of 2001. A month later, the World Trade Center was destroyed.

In the days and weeks that followed, New Yorkers seemingly spoke of only one thing: recounting their September 11 experience.

Memories fade, and stories change over time. In an effort to capture 9/11 ephemera, I hung posters, and invited folks to email stories or memes so I could post them on this site.

NYC Stories is intended for mature audiences. The contents collected here represent a snapshot of the 9/11 zeitgeist at the end of 2001.
