Never Forget 2001
NYC Stories is a collection of 9/11 ephemera. NYCstories.com was originally conceived as a website built to be a place where New Yorkers could share tales about life in the Big Apple. About a month after the website launched, the World Trade Center was destroyed by terrorists.
In the days and weeks that followed, New Yorkers seemingly spoke of only one thing: recounting their September 11th experience. Memories fade over time. As conversations began to shift back to everyday things, I invited people to email stories and memes to be published on this site, and I promised that I’d keep their stories free and available to the public.
NYC Stories is intended for mature audiences. The contents collected here represent a snapshot of the city’s 9/11 zeitgeist at the end of 2001.
