My name is David and I am a narrative artist. In 1996 I got my first computer and began to surf the web looking for like-minded story enthusiasts. I created StoryTalk so that storytellers, writers, scientists, managers, speakers, lawyers, teachers, salespeople, media pros, and anyone interested in the art and science of story can come together to share, learn, think, and talk about narrative.
StoryTalk 1.0 began in 1998 as a simple page with an extensive collection of Story related links.
StoryTalk 2 had links, articles, polls, a monthly contest, a bulletin board, and scheduled chats with well known Story professionals.
StoryTalk 3 was a simple blog type site where people could discuss Story related subjects.
StoryTalk 4 used a CMS (Content Management System) which turned out to be difficult to customize and maintain. StoryTalk moved servers and redesigned.
StoryTalk 5.0 became a members only community where participants could discuss Story related issues.
StoryTalk 5.1 moved servers again and remained a member driven community where participants discussed all things Story.
StoryTalk 6.0 is the StoryTalk you are viewing now.
