Weekly Sugar Challenge: Week of June 21, 2010

June 21, 2010 Comments (3)

candy This week’s challenge invites you to avoid sweet stuff until Friday night. You can eat whatever you want on Friday (6:00-12:59 PM) so keep that in mind whenever you are tempted during the week. After Friday night return to avoiding sugar for the remainder of the weekend. The “after Friday” part is important. Do not eat sweets on Saturday or Sunday. It’s only one week. You can do easily this and it should produce interesting results that will teach you about yourself and your relationship to sugar. Give it a try!

Hi there! Thanks for creating this site! I always love sweet as far as I can remember.
About a year ago I tried to loose some weight by decreasing the amount of sugar in my diet, and successfully lost about 8 lbs. Sadly, due to stress and emotional tiggers, I have been binging sugary food every now and then throughout the year, and I have about 5 lbs back.
Today I just binged a jar of berry jam with oatmeal and plain yogurt. I would love to join your army of fighting against sugar and lead a healthier live ever after! My goal is to loose about 10 lbs to the ideal weight for my height. Theoretically, it should take only 10 weeks. I will try my best with you to fight against my desire to have anything sweet with you in the upcoming weeks, months, and years.

Best regards,
EC

Hi EC! Welcome. I suggest you stop being sweet to be healthier and exercise to lose weight. If you avoid sweets just long enough to meet your weight loss goal, chances are you’ll find yourself on a never ending roller coaster ride. Ask yourself what can you do that’s sustainable. smile

Hey David,

Thanks for your advice! I will start early and bright tomorrow with an hour of gym and then meals with healthy food. NO SUGAR is the number one rule. I may have to taper myself since I still have some dried fruits at home that contain sugar. Yet they are never as bad as table sugar itself. From now on, I will not keep anything with sugar added in my apartment wink Nor would I actively seek for sugary food. Sugar-free food is not my cup of tea, and I have no trouble avoiding it smile

Man it sounds so difficult now… but I know that, with determination, I CAN DO IT!

About Me

I realized I had a sugar problem back in 2003 after a weekend-long binge on raw chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate covered pretzels. As a result, I began trying to quit sugar but kept failing. Finally, I figured out a way to stay off sweet junk food for good.
