The sugar free snacks ideas I listed in the past were suggestions for people who were weaning themselves off hard sweets for the first time. Below are ten sugar free snack suggestions for people who are further down the line with avoiding sweets.
Make a bowl of romaine lettuce, tomato, avocado, carrots, peppers, and cucumber topped with oil and vinegar. Very satisfying.
Hard boil some eggs and keep them in the refrigerator. Crack ‘em open and munch.
Slice up some red, yellow, or orange peppers. Eat them chilled and raw. Delicious!
Eat peanuts, cashews, walnuts or a mix of all three.
Make or purchase sugar-free hummus and dip in some carrot, cucumber, or pepper slices.
Once you’ve made a pot of sugar-free soup you can keep it stored and pour when you’re hungry. Put whatever you like inside!
Lots of pickles have added sugars. Make sure to read the label.
Almost like eating little pieces of candy, just make sure they’re not soaked in sweet juice.
Cheese comes in such a wide variety of styles, there must be one out there just for you.
Get those tiny colored peppers, cut the top off, remove the seeds and stuff ‘em with goat cheese (if you can eat cheese).
What about fruits and unsweetened dried fruits? Is the idea just refined sugars and fructose corn syrup?

Hi Jo, it’s different for everyone. Some people can’t have fruit or they find it makes them want to binge. I eat fruit and recommend it for those who can have it. Dried fruit works as long as it’s not got added sugars, as you mentioned. Lots of times the stuff in the bulk aisle is laced with sweetener.

Hi David - thank you for your response. Except for Friday/Saturday I am sugar free. On Fri/Sat I have home made baked goods with small amounts of honey or maple syrup. Sometimes stevia.

I realized I had a sugar problem back in 2003 after a weekend-long binge on raw chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate covered pretzels. As a result, I began trying to quit sugar but kept failing. Finally, I figured out a way to stay off sweet junk food for good.
Don’t quit sugar. Stop Being Sweet instead! Questions? Please ask!
