Suggestions Wanted!

October 21, 2006

In my next year of unsweetness I’m working to make this website into a place where you can also Stop Being Sweet.

What kinds of things would help you?

Recipes?

A step-by-step guide on how-to-quit?

Group support?

Please tell me and I’ll do my best to incorporate it into the Stop Being Sweet website.

Thanks!

Without knowing you wink I quit sugar for one year starting on August 27th 2006, until August 2007… The dates of the annual Canadian Ironman, which I have signed up to compete in next summer….
I love being sugar free.. and have been doing a lot of investigating of alternatives to sugar… a list on your website would be great!  And also I have been working hard at making the best sugar free muffins and cakes… yummm… recipies would be great too…

I would love some recipes for vegetarian , vegan food and support for quitting would be helpful.
I am sooo sick myself stuffing my face with unhealthy food without thinking!

I think a forum would be awesome.  That way we could support each other.

I suggest creating a booklist for people to refer to, with titles that would help them in their goal to stop intaking sugar.

I have one title to add to the list:

Sugar Blues - William Dufty
(this book goes into the historical background of the sugar industry, as well as the reasons why sugar is detrimental to one’s health. )

I would appreciate seeing a list of foods that you ate to replace sugar—or what techniques worked for you when your cravings kicked in, etc. A forum would be great as well to talk to other people around the world. Is there any treatment one can receive for sugar addiction or must they just go through withdrawal? Did you take any supplements to stabilize your blood sugar level?
