For those of you who don’t know, I quit sugar two years ago with one stipulation: I allow myself to eat I allow myself to eat anything during the three days between Halloween and my birthday.
Last year I tried to eat nothing but sweets during the three days after Halloween. It didn’t work; I felt miserable. This year I’m not very excited about eating sugar. Still, tonight I had some of Gwenn’s chocolate milkshake while eating out after the preview of the new vonHummer movie Bubiwolf.
It’s strange to eat chocolate. It tastes like it always has. I know it sounds silly but you might expect chocolate to be different after not eating it for a year, as if it would seem magic. When we got home I had some chocolate chip banana bread that Gwenn made.
Tomorrow is Halloween and I’m keeping it simple this year. Last year I went Trick-or-treating and ate all the candy from my pillowcase-bag in three days. Yuck. Gross…not doing that again. I have classes to teach and don’t want to go nuts with the sugar. Last year I ended up having the shakes and sweats in the middle of my (fitness) classes.
