Try this:
For the rest of June only eat sweets on Sunday.
During the other days of the week—when you get super hungry—eat replacement foods.
Be prepared for extreme hunger! Eat complex carbs like orange juice, healthy (not white) breads, and lots of fruits and veggies.
Eat until you are satisfied. You might find yourself eating a little too much, but know it won’t last forever. When you want sweets, tell yourself it’s just a matter of days.
Try that for June.
It’ll show you a whole lot about yourself and let you see if you really want to stop being sweet for real.
Well,
Your story is my story. I am a member of OA and it has taken me a long time to realize the power sugar and white flour have over me. I just recently started to see and feel the change,as it was happening inside of me, as I consumed sugar again. I want off sugar and am trying again. The longest I’ve ever gone is 30 days. I still believe it can be done, when I hear people in program talk about 14yrs of abstinence from sugar. I need a miracle. Today was a great day for me to get his e-mail from you as I am angry and wanting sugar.
Thank you,
Genoa

Oh, thanks so much for your response. I am still struggling. It seems almost impossible at times because I want sugar so bad.
I hope you are successful. I still have hope.

One day at a time. Think of “not eating sugar” as if it were a skill. Each day you practice and get better at it!
