I Ate Sugar.

November 08, 2007 Comments (0)

Last night I went out to dinner to celebrate birthdays with long-time family friends. We ate a a fancy place in Portland’s Pearl District. When it came time for dessert I opted to order and eat the chocolate mousse. I really used to love (and still kinda do love) chocolate mousse. Instead of sitting and watching everyone eat dessert while I sipped some tea, I ate mousse—all of it—and it really kinda stunk because there wasn’t as much chocolate as I’d have preferred; mostly it was whipped cream. Yuck.

The result?

I regretted eating it, but not enough to get sad. Instead, it’s a reminder that sugar isn’t all that. And the reminder lasted into today when I got the shakes at lunchtime during Tai Chi class. Not fun.

Sugar is like Jr. High School. The further you get from it, the easier it is to forget all about it.
