We’re now a month into the new year. Resolutions are either happening or fading away. Which is it for you?
This week’s sugar challenge is to eat a ton of sugar. Eat as much as you possibly can. Indulge. Enjoy yourself. Go for it! Eat up! Give yourself the freedom to binge all day long, all week long.
We only get one life. Why not just eat whatever and not think twice about it? Who cares? If it feels good, do it! Have cookies for breakfast, cake for lunch, ice cream for dinner and eat candy as a snack in between.
Drink only sweet drinks such as chocolate milk, soda, or sweetened water like iced tea or energy drinks. Add sugar if you want.
Seriously, who cares? Do you? Do you really care about what you’re eating?
The real challenge is not to care but instead to do something about it.
It’s 2011 alright. As the year just gets rolling and things slowly get back to normal after the holidaze, it’s easy to slip back into old habits. I find this time of year exciting and stressful at the same time. Perhaps you do as well.
This week’s sugar challenge is to notice when you eat. Every time you put something in your belly take note of the circumstances surrounding your consumption.
Are you hungry?
Did you eat too much? Too little?
What did you eat? Was that the first thing you wanted when you felt like eating?
Take note. That’s all. Just pay attention.

Happy New Year!
This week’s challenge is a simple one: just drink water.
For a whole week, avoid all liquids but the only one we need to survive. No coffee, no soda, no milk, and no alcohol.
This challenge is an easy thing to do but it will challenge some people beyond their abilities. Can you do it?
Here’s to 2011 being a better year than 2010!
The Holiday Sugar Challenge rolls along!
Is there anyone out there who has avoided sugar?
Are you with me?
I can’t be the only one.
Tell me I’m not alone…

The Holiday Sugar Challenge is rolling!
If you’re eating sweets, try cutting back at least a bit. Try laying off sugar for one week. From right now until December 20th see if you can stay away from sugary snacks.
If you just can’t make it through the holidays without sugar, try only eating sweets on the weekend. Or perhaps just when you’re at a party.
Create some kind of parameter and stick to it. If you create a parameter that doesn’t work for you, alter it!
Take it one bite at a time. New Year’s Eve is right around the corner…
We’re getting closer and closer to the end of the year and I can’t wait. 2010 was not a good one for me. I am absolutely ready for 2011.
If you’re participating, the Holiday Sugar Challenge is still on! That means from right now until January 31st, don’t eat any sugary foods.
If you are thinking that you should put this off, that’s okay. Don’t worry about it, it’s just your health. Put it off until next year. I procrastinate all the time, there’s no harm in it. Really, deal with it next year. Whatever, right?
Or deal with it now! From this moment until January 31st don’t eat sugar. What’s the worst result?
1. You slip up and eat sugar
2. You don’t eat any sugar and pass through the holidays without having indulged your sweet tooth
3. Something completely unexpected
It’s always number three, so why not give it a try and see what happens?
The Holiday Sugar Challenge is on! How are you doing? I’m overwhelmed. I am completely in over my head with work and writing and so I’ve been unable to focus on much else.
All of this stress makes me want to buy chocolate every time I am out at the store. It also means I want to eat more than usual and so I end up eating other foods in order to remain off the sugar.
That’s how it goes, especially around the holidays. Everyone is eating and as a result we want to eat as well.
You might find yourself tempted to just have a little snack here or there. Or you might opt to forget about avoiding sugar altogether and put it off until the new year. I can’t make you do anything but I urge you, if you’re eating sweets, to start at least to cut back. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to simply say no and eat something else.
If you’re presented with holiday junk food, don’t eat it! Go for something healthy instead. If you work in an office, be the person who brings in something with sustenance.
Going to a holiday party? Bring a fruits salad. Do whatever you have to do.
The Holiday Sugar Challenge means no sugar from now until New Year’s Eve. On that day eat whatever you want and then we’re starting 2011 sugar free!
For me, I’ve been through the holidays five times without eating sweets so I know I can do it. That doesn’t make it easy by any means, but I know it can be done.
Good luck!
Can you believe that it’s Thanksgiving week already? If you’re just joining us, the Holiday Sugar Challenge is on! We’re avoiding sweets until this Thursday at which time you can eat whatever you want. After that it’s no sweets until NEW YEAR’S EVE.
If you must, take a day between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve to eat sweets. If you can, go from Thanksgiving until December 31st. January 1st is the new year, so time for resolutions!
I know some of you are putting all of this off until January 1st but I strongly encourage you to start now. Over the next few weeks you might slip up here and there. Think of it as a warm up for the new year.
Happy Thanksgiving!
